Healthy Vision Month


We use our eyes all day, everyday. From the time we wake up to shut off the alarm to when we shut our eyes after we put down our phones at night, our vision is vital to our daily lives. Simple entertainment like watching Avengers: Endgame and watching amazing visual effects are made possible because of our vision. So how can we ensure that our vision stays healthy?

  • Wear sunglasses (even on cloudy days): UV protection is a must to help prevent cataracts and macular degeneration.

  • Add eye healthy foods to your diet: eat dark, leafy greens like kale or spinach. Also, get your omega-3’s through salmon, halbut and tuna.

  • Regular physical activity: healthy bodies means healthy eyes.

  • Give your eyes a rest: remember the 20-20-20 rule - every 20 minutes, focus 20 feet in front of you for 20 seconds.

  • Protect your eyes: use sport goggles and safety glasses to prevent sport or work related injuries.
